To please lord Shiva many fast are done by devotees. Pradosh is one of them which are done on trayodashi of each month. Fast of pradosh makes auspicious occasion along with different days. This time this fast is on Monday (October 6, 2014) and making day of som pradosh. Because Monday is also known as day of shiva so there is great importance of this fast. Method of worship is given here:

• Pradosh fast is done without drinking water. After bath in early morning bathing lord Shiva, goddess parvati and Nandi with Gangajal and Panchamrit offer belpatra, gandh, rice, dhoop, deep, bhog, fruit, supaari, laung and ilayachi to god.

• In evening again take bath and in the same way do worship of lord shiva. With sodshopachar do worship of lord shiva in which along with 16 ingredients shiva worship should done. Offer barley sattu that is mixed with ghee and sugar.

• Light eight lamps in eight directions. Salute (Pranaam) each time taking. Do shiv Aarti and chant shiv strot and incantation.  

• In this way to fulfill each wish and destroy all the sorrows perform lord shiva pradosh fast.
